hello Ted! I found you through Elizabeth at Pretty Pink Tulips and I am really enjoying your blog. We used to live in Portland and made many antiquing trips to Seattle, so it is fun to visit you and get my Seattle “fix”! Your shop is fabulous.
Love this post. Lately we have been making an effort to take time to go on afternoon drives around our area. We find it amazing how a 15 minute drive away can make you feel like you are on vacation (one of the hundreds of reasons we love living here). I think it is so important to unplug and to stop, look and listen- and just be!

I agree…I feel like unplugging is becoming a thing of the past and I find it a true shame! We had several American visitors during our time living in Europe and I was really surprised by how often they wanted to check email, post updates to facebook, etc. Not my thing AT ALL. We are headed to the San Juans very soon when our kids are away, and I hope to totally unplug for a few days. BTW I am hoping to pop in and say hello during that kid-free time as well! I’ll drop you a note when I know more about my schedule.
