AIX Rosé

20120801-073417.jpg Wine Wednesday continues with a tip of the hat in admiration to the lovely AIX Rosé. This is Summer in a bottle. I feel transported to Provence when I am sipping this vibrant wine. It also comes in magnum sized bottles, which always speaks of a party or a lingering afternoon lunch outside with good friends. Produced at the Maison Saint Aix Winery just outside of Aix-en-Provence, this beautifully light pink wine is sure to become a new favorite. At $15 to $20 a bottle, it easily matches many rosé twice the price. Plus I love the strong simple graphic of the label, so it will spiffy up any table it graces.

  1. Love the idea of wine Wednesday – and this is easily my favorite rose! I always stop by your store when I go to the market or cafe campagne, and your blog has become one of my favorite “stops” while I have my morning cup of coffee :)

  2. Thanks for the recommendation! I will look for this next time out. We were recently very pleasantly surprised when we tried a wine called “New Age” from Argentina. It was served with a twist of lime and ice! We thought , NO WAY! It turned out to be an amazingly refreshing summer aperitif. The wine is a little lower in alcohol content, ~9%, and has a slight effervecence that really makes this wine dance on the palate. It is not too sweet and is wonderful with oysters on the shell, cheeses, and even pate’. We served it at a recent dinner party, the type where the guys only drink beer before dinner…let’s just say we have lots of beer left!!!

    Happy August!
