I love receiving and sending snailmail - I am the original "paper girl" so have lots of cards on hand with pretty embellishments and stamps. I still remember the days when my Mom would receve a card or letter from her sisters and brothers. She was thrilled and shared them with us! She always sent cards to friends and family and that is where my "habit" began. Then my dear friend here in Mill Creek and I discovered our mutual love for all things paper and my box of cards expanded to a fully stocked antique secretary. I do believe my recipients love to get my cards along with pertinent and fun newspaper and magazine articles! Thanks for your posting about this!

I simply adore a handwritten note, it's exciting! My Mother and brother, Mr. TKW, and myself are the only people who I know who still take the time to send lovely notes, as Ted mentioned, they don't have to be long. Short and sweet is good also. It's an art form that needs to return to our fast paced society. If everyone wrote one to a friend, a new trend just may get started! Wishful thinking, but I'm the eternal optimist who can dream, can't I? Just do it! You will put a smile on someone's face you care about. Happy writing to all, and brother I will be anxiously awaiting my very own from you, and you keep an eye on your mailbox. Lovingly from your sister in Kansas City, Kathy

I, too take great pleasure in receiving a hand written note, but more so enjoy a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment when I can send a few heartfelt lines via "snail mail" to family and friends. For me, not just having the nice box for keepingmy writing implements together, but also having a small uncluttered area to sit and write makes all the difference!
