A Sunday Poem by E.E. Cummings

20140202-050439.jpg Vanity Fair this month has a lovely small article about poet E.E. Cummings. If you get a chance to read it, do. What an interesting life. It included this sweet, sweet poem.

i carry your heart with me
(i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it
(anywhere i go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done by only me
is your doing, my darling)

Up and out early this morn to the city for the gift show. Reports to follow. I promise to talk pictures.

  1. i have long loved e.e. cummings’ poetry. he had a preference for lower case, including his name. i am surprised vanity fair did not know that. as you said, this poem is very dear. thanks for sharing it.
