Sending Relaxing Thoughts

20141220-070205.jpg Being a retailer, the Saturday before Christmas is when I really start to see certain folks begin to get a little stressed out while shopping. My post today really is just a reminder to all of us, myself included, to take a deep breath, and enjoy. The Holidays can be such a joyous time, but they can also be stressful. Tons to do–shopping, wrapping, spending money, entertaining, family, more family, shopping again, more wrapping again–you get the picture. Bottom line, we all just need to have fun with it. My hope for all of us is a week-end filled with enjoyed tasks, while fully enjoying the season that it upon us.
Sending my very best. Always.

  1. Perfect reminder to all of us, Ted, to savor each and every moment of the holidays. I look forward to reading your post every morning. Thanks for keeping us positive!

  2. LOVE all your flower bulbs forced this year surrounded with paper – it is such a cool idea, and looks so elegant and accessible! I keep forgetting that I am going to tear a few of my dictionary pages out to do that instead of just use them for collages! Maybe this week….thanks for your thoughtful, calming post!

  3. Ted, your post today was so timely. I want to share my Saturday-before-Christmas with you. My husband and I rejected our usual Saturday chores and decided to just have fun. We drove to the next nearest big city, Roanoke, Virginia, and bypassed the malls. Just for the heck of it, we test drove a little suv we’ve always wanted to drive, then headed to Barnes & Noble where we bought books, mags, Godiva chocolate and cheesecake for later. Then we headed off for pizza at a wonderful out-of-the-way dive that was quiet and filled with locals who all seemed to be in a festive mood. On the way out of town, we stopped by the local gourmet market for more Christmas treats, petits fours to be exact, for when company stops by, and mulled cider mixes for making the house smell good. Then, as we headed toward home, we detoured into a small village to see how the villagers had decorated their old Victorian homes, which was splendid indeed. We arrived back home feeling relaxed and so thankful that we could enjoy such a fine day. I wish you as fine a Christmas season as I am blessed with.
PS. I ordered a horn bracelet from you, and it’s gorgeous. Hubby’s giving it to me for Christmas. So fun.
