Dunham Cellars 2012 Trutina

20151216-054154.jpg This holiday time of year can often be a time when you want to share a special bottle of wine with friends. It is also easy to be overwhelmed by options when you are standing in the wine aisle choosing. My first words of advice for this Wine Wednesday post is if you ever see a bottle from Dunham Cellars and it is in your price range, grab it. The stuff is always gold. Always. We were fortunate to meet Eric Dunham many years ago in Walla Walla through our friends Linda & Cam. It was then that we tasted many of his wines and became huge fans. Trutina, is a Bordeaux style blend, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 10% Malbec, 5% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot. This time of year it can often be found at its best price. A lovely bottle to share with your guests during this joyous season.

From the maker:
2 0 1 2 T R U T I N A | Stylistically similar to other vintages, our 2012 Trutina reflects a much warmer year with more fruit push in the nose. Aromas of sun-ripened strawberries and juicy plums weave a palate with cherry lightly touched by graphite and cola. Powerful and elegant, this remarkably balanced wine lingers with a long, smooth finish.

A lovely Wednesday to you all!
