A Hawthorne Recap

February 16, 2016

We have been back in Seattle for a week, jumping right back in as Valentine week is hopping at the shops. Thought I would do a little Hawthorne overview, as the house is coming along each stay. Sharing the progress with all of you has been such a meaningful part of this journey–of turning a house into a home. We saw lots of family & friends, both new and old. We got to meet our niece’s son for the first time. Cooking plays a large part at our farmhouse, so trying out recipes is always in the mix. New things were brought along in the suitcase and found new homes on tabletops or bookcases. Art was hung. Flowers were placed here and there to bring the house to life. Trips into Hudson were always a delight. There was little to no snow on our stay and the temperature was incredibly mild, so it felt like Spring. Caretaker Bill sent the last image in the group the day after we left. It literally started snowing as we pulled out of the driveway to head to the airport. This Saturday is was -11 degrees, so we missed the snow and cold this trip.
