Roses and Hydrangeas

20131016-080837.jpg This time of year I try and snip any remaining blooms from outside plants to enjoy inside. My walk around the house the other evening when we first arrived produced a few roses and hydrangea that instantly went into little vases & glasses to savor while we are here for the week. The little hits of color and texture adding so much to each little spot they grace.

Happy Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas in bloom means to me that Summer is in full swing. Driving around doing errands and seeing all the lovely varieties–the variations of blue, pink and white.

I like to keep the arrangement super simple, and rarely mix any other type of flower with hydrangea. A vintage Ball jar holding a single stem, or a big bouquet filling up a white McCoy vase. The simplicity really lets the beauty of the hydrangea shine.
