An Outdoor Shower

Hands down one of my favorite additions we have made to our house is our outdoor shower. To shower in the early morning with the sun coming up, the birds singing, and the waves crashing in–is a magical experience indeed. Even on cold mornings, I often opt for the outdoor shower over our inside one.

We recently installed an instantaneous water heater, allowing for a nice hot shower without worry that the hot water would be used up before you were finished.

Just down the stairs is the beach, so washing your sandy feet after a stroll is a breeze.

Our friend Cara Wells has an outdoor shower at her family’s beach place on the North Fork of Long Island where we have stayed many times over the years. It was what sparked the idea for us.

It really does just wash away my worries and cares, as the water beats down upon me.
