The Finish Line

July 15, 2011

The finish line is in sight, and my hope is that by next Friday, the new space will be complete. It has been an incredibly fun, tiring, exhilarating, challenging, fulfilling project combining the 2 spaces. I really can’t wait for you to see it. I could not be happier with how it is turning out. Here is a sneak peek of a few displays from the last day.

I have had a bird section of goods in my shops since I opened almost 13 years ago. I love the variety of colors and assortment of things I always seem to find on my buying trips.

We had papered the wall several years back, with tons of vintage papers, but had a large case of Mariage Freres tea blocking most of it. We moved the tea back to the new space, so it is fun to see more of the wall exposed now.

I have always loved the combination of black & white together. It is so very classic. The expanded space is really allowing us to create expanded vignettes of the themes and color stories we love to tell.

Bowls and bowls of things. We sell oodles and boodles of vintage ephemera, so I was super happy to do this black, white and cream display and fill up all the bowls and platters.
