Shades of Green
September 1, 2011With the dining table set up in the expanded space, I am having so much fun changing out the table design often. The last version was faux bois, twigs, creams, clear glass and browns. This round I thought I would do the table in varying shades of green. One piece can throw me in that direction. In this case, it was the vintage green library filing cabinet that was sitting lonely in a corner, that I knew would look stellar in the middle of the table giving great height, and adding unexpected visual interest.
Then pulling some of my favorite green things from inventory. Mixing glassware is something I almost always do. This dinner is just for 2, and has various sized plates, plus an oversized napkin. There is a little green reading thrown in, as well.
A stunning vessel filled with all the clippings of scented geraniums that I had cut back the other day–the shades of green perfect for this table. And lastly, new candlesticks that just arrived yesterday from my buying trip to New York, with different stripes of green candles to pull it all together.
