The Gift of Citrus

20111203-073208.jpg This time of year can be both joyous and stressful, so I do everything I can to simplify things. Making up groupings of gifts at one time, so I have a quick gift at the ready, is one of those things. This year, I made up bags of oranges & grapefruits, put them in oversized cello bags, tied them off with a red scripted tag and orange ribbon (I love that color combo) and have them ready to give when I need a simple gift. Citrus this time of year is most often available at the grocery store in bulk bags. One of our closest friend’s son was having a fund raiser for his choir, and they were selling boxes of citrus, so we went that route. They are little gifts at the ready that we can give when friends come over for Holiday drinks, to the fellow who delivers our newspaper, the UPS driver who brings things to the shop, or anyone else who brings happiness to my day. Just a simple something that let’s them know they are appreciated and loved.
