Domaine Pouillon Deux

20130116-070022.jpg Quite often we will have a wine when we are out having dinner that we quite like, then I will track it down and buy it for our next dinner party. Such is the case with this heavily French influenced white, Domaine Pouillon Deux, which is a Columbia Valley wine. We had it at Sitka & Spruce when we were celebrating our 25th anniversary and we both liked it quite a bit. It is not the easiest to find, so when the folks at Pike & Western said they could order it for me, I ordered a case so we would have it for future meals with guests. We served it the other evening and it was much enjoyed with the cassoulet. 53% Chardonnay & 47% Viognier, it is a nod to the owner Alexis’ favorite ‘Villages’ in France–Ardèche, where their white Vin-du-pays is most commonly a Chardonnay/Viognier. It is just easy drinking wine that pairs well with food but also nice to have just by the glass.
