H= Hawthorne Happiness

August 17, 2013

20130817-083252.jpg We arrived late last night to our new part-time home in New York, Hawthorne. The drive up the Taconic was as picturesque as always. This part of the world is just so pretty. If you have never been, put it on your list. The combination of hills, mountains, trees and pastoral vistas is just really quite something. We are still pinching ourselves that our dream of being here on a regular basis has come true. We know how incredibly lucky, fortunate & blessed we are. It is a day of unpacking and squeezing in a bit of rest. TPS drives me into the city at the crack of dawn and I will spend 4 full days walking the aisles of the Javitz Center looking for Watson Kennedy goods at the New York show. We arrived to many boxes last night, but the one I raced to open was this vintage Hermes blanket. We are doing the house in all sorts of varying shades of green. My heart just about stopped when I found this two-toned green version. The fact that Hawthorne and Hermes both start with an ‘H’ is purely coincidental, but what the heck, we are running with it. I look at it all as part of the fun of ‘doing’ a house. Playing with paint samples and a little vintage shopping is on the agenda when we are back at the end of the week. Now off to open up the rest of those boxes…
