A Change of Season Marker

I love this time of year when Summer is coming to a close and Autumn is inching towards us. The natural markers of this time are so beautiful. There are a row of gorgeous chestnut trees across from our building in the city. The above lone dropped chestnut was my gift yesterday morning on my walk with Bailey. Each year I start a small collection of them for our coffee table. The first one is always so memorable. It may have been close to 90 degrees yesterday in Seattle, but this solo chestnut tells me that the cool, crisp days are soon to follow.
