Holiday Windows

November 2, 2013

20131102-050911.jpg The last few days have been spent getting the shops ‘Holiday’ ready, with yesterday being devoted to doing the front windows at the First Avenue location. We create a very subtle approach to Holiday at Watson Kennedy, focusing more on the gift giving aspect of the shops. I really wanted to fill the windows up with goods that spoke to that point. Out came the stacks of books, tins of Mariage Freres tea, boxes of Diptyque candles, bags of Santa Maria Novella potpourri–to create a nod to the gift giving season. One window we took vintage frames and made little tableaus. It is also our 15th anniversary month, so we put a little emphasis on that too, with hits of red and WK’s & 15’s set about. The other window was centered on our love of maps, then took a black, white, creamy, silver and gold spin with product pulled from the floor. All to spark gift giving creativity as we head into the season.
