A Hawthorne Moment/Moments
November 19, 2015I feel like we got off the airplane a few weeks ago and it has been a sprint since. Getting the shops ‘Holiday’ ready and just lots of other fun things going on, I have yet to do a re-cap of the Hawthorne trip. We timed the visit perfectly, as the change of colors was like watching an autumnal ballet the two weeks we were there. If you have not guessed it yet, it is a place where we go to recharge. It has become a place where I do my best thinking, planning, dreaming. Comfort is key. We laughed when we counted 6 sofas, so curling up with a good book or napping is always part of a days activity. It has been such a treat to turn this farmhouse into our home these past 2 years. Bit by bit, each stay we add a piece here and there and the place is starting to take shape. I think a home is always a work in progress, for all of us, but enjoying the heck out of that journey along the way is what makes it all so sweet.
The above all just moments from that stay. Venturing out to Hudson and Chatham is always part of the visit. We are also incredibly close to the Berkshires in Massachusetts, so we spent an afternoon at The Clark. Below images captured by photographer Kelly Merchant from the Design Sponge shoot that also occurred on this trip. We will return in snowy January, when the house will be blanketed in white, another season to watch unfold around us.
Thank you for following along and being part of this journey with us…
