I’ll Take, Lamps, For the Win

September 22, 2018

The lamps I found at the show in New York in August were the winning element that started this window yesterday. I am so taken with their textural simplicity. They flank a new Hugo Guinness piece we just got back from the framer. From there the layering begins. A little bit of this and a little bit of that. I walk around the shop pulling goods, place them, and then do it all over again until the window is complete. Sort of like a puzzle. You try a piece, it does not fit, so you try another. Window design is part fantasy as well as highlighting items that tell the visual story you have in mind. The many folks who will walk by it each day and maybe one thing with catch their eye. I inhabit a bit of each window. A little piece of my personality or style comes through to tell a story. It is then up to each person who views it to find a piece of it that resonates with them.
