Chateau Marmont

November 14, 2019

Our stay is Los Angeles is always at the storied Chateau Marmont. It just feels like home to us. Built in 1929, the same year The Gainsborough was built as well as our old home, Oak Manor. We are obviously drawn to that time. Comfort is key, without anything fussy, while everything speaks of quality. Comfort and quality, a duo that defines what I am about and always in search of. While it often gets written about being trendy, we think it is quite the opposite. Sure it draws a movie and music crowd, but that is a small part of the overall story.

The staff is kind and helpful. Super attentive. Bailey is treated like a rock star. Sorry Mick, Miss B is in the house. The pool is encased in what we think of as a secret garden. Small, it feels like sitting around someone’s pool in their backyard. Intimate. The last night of our stay they were filming a commercial around the pool with two horses. Quirky indeed. You can grab a drink or dine in the oversized living room or outside under the oversized tent in the courtyard. It is our LA home away from home.
