A Quiet Night In

December 31, 2019

Not quite a week since we arrived at Hawthorne but the relaxation mode we long for after the retail marathon has begun to set in. Big fires roaring on the back porch, long, lazy meals at the supper table, reading which leads to a nap on the sofa in the living room. This New Year’s Eve it will be a quiet night in, which we both love. A time to reflect on the year that has passed and make plans for the upcoming year. A simple meal of pappardelle with roasted shrimp & feta on the menu. A gift of a bottle of Dom Pérignon will be enjoyed. If we make it till the clock strikes midnight, grand. But will be just as happy if we don’t. Some years we love a big festive party, some not. This is a not year!

I want to thank all of you for following along. Some since the very beginning of the blog, some just recently. Sharing the busy and not, the good with the not always so good, the beautiful, the simple. To revel in the singular moments. To see the beauty in them. Cheers to 2020! From the Hudson Valley. Much, much love, Ted2+Bailey
