Two Faux Bois Windows

A busy week of display comes to a close as the big windows in the front of the First & Spring shop are completed. Heather did a bang up job faux bois-ing the walls. It is exactly how I had envisioned them in my head. We have worked together for so long, I ramble off some thoughts and ideas and she knows just where I am headed. We joke that at times we don’t even need to speak, we know just what the other is thinking. The look of wood was the perfect backdrop for these two vignettes. I have been acquiring lovely European paintings from the 1920’s to 50’s. The above and below works the starting point for each window. Then we just run with it, creating imaginary stories of who and where and how the inhabitants live. It is a narrative that drives the look of each.
