New Artwork at Watson Kennedy

October 28, 2020

The parcels keep arriving each day, and the ones with artwork in them are always the first I rush to open. Above, a new artist for us from Brooklyn, Julia Felsenthal. Introduced to me by my friend Deborah, the moment I saw her work I was smitten. The 3 of us share a big love of flowers, which are a major theme of her paintings. I was particularly drawn to the smallest of details on the plates that hold the vessels or the fabric on the tables. They add an unexpected visual hit that drew me right to them. Below a new round of works from Los Angeles artist Jackie Clark Mancuso, who we have now been showing for a handful of years. Each round telling a deeper story of her work. Both groupings having a variety of vintage and new frames, which I really quite like–each piece ends up dictating which. More of their work is on our website as well as up on our shop walls. Cheers to living with art!
