Lilacs & Lavender

Flower Friday all about the peak of the season lilacs and a freshly potted lavender making a lovely couple for a country alfresco lunch. The Hudson Valley has been having a stretch of extraordinary May weather that feels quite a bit like Summer. The heat has pushed the lilacs right along. We have been here for a little over a week and the bushes were just starting to bloom on our arrival. They are now divinely full, full, full. We had supper with our niece Aisling last night in Chatham. The drive there with the windows down was heaven. The scent of the lilacs permeating the air. Lilac season might be short but it is oh so sweet. Happy week-end all!
