Dinner Plate Dahlias The Star

One of my favorite flower vendor at the Market had two big buckets of the most heavenly dinner plate dahlias. I could not resist. They made for the simplest Sunday supper table as they were clearly the star of the show. Visiting family from New York and a celebratory bottle of pink bubbles to toast their visit and the finish of my book. The reddish pink-y swirl plates pulling the whole thing together. Halibut that was a gift from friends in Alaska along with a vegetable tian and a peach crisp the meal. Sometimes/often, simplicity the driving force for a relaxing meal with those we love.
