An Early Valentine’s Day Supper

It was a Valentine table for two out on the island on Monday eve, a week early. We are both working the shops on the 14th, so I thought it would be fun to celebrate the heart day with a pink and red table, along with a favorite bottle of wine. The potted hyacinth from the grocery store giving us a burst of vibrant pink. Roasted shrimp and an artichoke were on the menu. We save bottles of Domaine Tempier Bandol rosé from the summer and pull one out on a super chilly day to be transported to a hot August day. The roaring fire also helped set the stage. With Bailey snoring away on her pillow, we enjoyed the meal with the door opened a crack so we heard the sound of the trees in the wind and the lapping of the water as the tide came in. Grateful to be able to enjoy it together. Be it Valentine’s Day or any day. The goal, always make it special.
