{Flower Friday} all about the exquisiteness of the divine peony. We have never been at the house when the peonies bloomed, so we are in flowery heaven at the moment. Over the last 10 years we would fly back to Seattle with a bundle of tight buds nestled in the magazine holder in front of our seat for the flight where they would bloom later in vases around the apartment. So we are thoroughly enjoying them all over the house this stay while they bloom like crazy out front. A big thunder and rain storm the other evening beat them up a bit, so extra got brought in, which I saw no problem with in the least. Insert big smile. Happy almost June weekend to you all! XX, T2

Last Saturday we hosted a Hawthorne@10 Open House in thanks to all the fine folks we have met in the ten years since we bought our home in the Hudson Valley. It was filled with much love & laughter, tasty food and drink, along with a sense of community that we are so honored to have become part of. As is so often the case, I rarely if ever reach for my phone when we are hosting a gathering as really wanting to be as present in the moment as possible for our guests. If we are not hosting, I love clicking away. So had to call upon friends Elizabeth @theprettypinktulips and Susanna @susannasalk for a few of their snaps. Mine shot before and after the festive day. It was such a fun time that created many cherished memories and stories—which is what makes throwing a party so satisfying/memorable. #Friendship #Love #LifeInTheHudsonValley At #HawthorneGhent

Always fun preparing for a party. Big or small. We love gathering folks. Tomorrow we will celebrate our 10th year at Hawthorne. Our Hudson Valley adventure is everything, and more, that we hoped it would be. We feel so fortunate to call it and Seattle/Vashon Island home. A festive party day it will be! At #HawthorneGhent

{Flower Friday} the peony now in full bloom on my bedside table. The scent pretty darn great to fall asleep and wake up to. Then I open my eyes and am treated to the magnificent that is each and every peony bloom. This particular one with its little flecks of red here and there adds to the visual delight. The peonies in front of the house not quite yet open. This is our first stay where they might actually be open before we depart. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Either way, some of the stems will fly back with us to Seattle. A continuing tradition. As I have written often, the season for these heavenly blooms might be short, but man oh man, is it ever so sweet. Everyone have a fab first weekend in June! X, T
