Pumpkins, Here And There

October 8, 2024

One of my favorite things about Autumn in the Hudson Valley is the huge variety of pumpkins that show up at just about every turn. At farm stands and grocery stores, as well as incredible displays of them at homes as you drive around on the country roads. Picking them out for Hawthorne is such a fun part of our stay this time of year. The creamy white ones have always been our favorites, in varying shapes. There is a simplicity to them. We dot them about on the stone walls leading up to the house as well as the stairs. Inside, they find homes on tables in just about every room—happy signs of the season.
