This, Became, This

As promised, more on the Little Hawthorne renovation. The house has a fairly small bathroom that was majorly in need of a re-do. The sink with the cabinet underneath ate up so much of the room. The bathtub did as well, and the plastic tile throughout not our style at all. So everything went away right down to the studs. Mold was found so it was a good time to get all of that taken care of and the electrical and plumbing redone as everything was opened up so was most efficient. We found the most handsome little round recycled glass tiles for the floor so we used that in the shower and the rest of the room. As well as a beautiful piece of marble for the enclosure and the entry into the room. A new wall hung sink with a vintage vibe was found and all new hardware throughout to tie it all together. The shell shaped toilet was replaced with a simple shaped and compact Toto brand that we spent tons of time looking for and are so happy with it, Who knew finding a simple toilet would be so complex! We found a cool vintage mirror for over the sink to keep vintage feel going. White subway tile and bead board gave the walls a classic feel. Now the room feels open and fresh. We can’t wait for our next Hawthorne stay in May, so we can stay over a few nights to really get a feel of things now that everything is completed.
