Shop Snaps

Even when we are in New York a month or longer, I still stay connected to the shops every day, in some way. Be it working on orders and social media & newsletters from afar, and shopping for vintage goods to add to our inventory. But I also always like to see the vignettes which keep me so connected visually to the spaces and product. Sophia and Carrie send me photos while I am away, using them for inspiration when I am going over orders and looking for new things to add to our mix. I have always said good shopkeeping is very much like a puzzle, if done well. So many pieces that make up a collective whole, and in the case of Watson Kennedy, an incredibly visual, layered collection whole. With over 12,000 active SKU’s it is a large puzzle set inside a frame that could easily look haphazard. Our job is to make it look interesting, stylish and well thought out, with the placement of every item given lots of consideration. Even after all these years, I find it tons of creative fun!
