Living With Original Art

A new clipper ship from artist Denise Fiedler arrived from San Francisco the other day. It one the largest one she has created for us yet. Housed in a vintage frame, the work is so very handsome. It is now living among many other pieces by a variety of fabulous artists in an area we call ‘Ocean-land’ at the First & Spring shop. The section grows & grows. It got me thinking about all our original works of art we have at both shops. Some big, some small, some framed, some not. Original art incredibly near & dear to my heart. There is only one. That in and of itself has a huge appeal to me. In our world of mass production, to possess a ‘just one’ means a moment in time that the artist was creating the piece is honored in such a beautiful way.
