Your Kindness
August 5, 2025
Wanted to take a moment to send out a big THANKS to so many of you who have sent messages & cards or chatted with me at the shops, checking in to see how I have been doing after the loss of my sister Kathy. Incredibly thoughtful and incredibly kind. I had been foolish to think just because someone has a long illness that the grieving process would be easier because you are preparing yourself for it during that duration. While I was not completely wrong, it does softens the blow a bit, but the process remains. We have spent lots of extra time out on the island, letting the sound of the waves and the wind in the trees comfort us immensely. And I must say, having a pooch has helped tremendously. Hendricks has been such a love during all of this. My sister got to meet him which means the world to me. So we are taking lots of days sloooow. Enjoying the memories. We both come from large extended families and have always had a large circle of friends, so we have experienced quite a bit of loss over the years. We have tried to learn from each of those passings. While it does not make it go away, it does make it easier in some way as you gain the tools from past loss. You focus on the good memories and experiences—so grateful to love and be loved. Seeing there is a beauty to all of it. Even the hard parts. Sending you all much love. Ted
