This & That
May 14, 2026
The first few days of our stay are pretty low key. We each had crazy busy weeks leading up to our departure, so a slow start much appreciated. It takes us a day or two to get the house just how we like it, stock the fridge and get ready for guests in the coming weeks. One thing we almost always do is have breakfast at Bartlett House before we head to the grocery store. As I am sure you have clued into if you read the daily blog with any regularity, we are majorly creatures of habit. We find great comfort in a routine we enjoy. These first few days at Hawthorne absolutely fall into that category. Plus add bits of work, cooking, reading, napping, and just puttering around the house or outside amongst the plants. TPS did a fab job at both houses cleaning up the limelight hydrangea, getting them ready for their season. Hendricks loves going from couch to couch waiting for the mail to arrive, watch squirrels and birds—guarding the perimeter, as we like to say.
