The Gift Of Meyer Lemons

We received a parcel the other day from our friend Mimi in Berkeley. She uses Meyer lemons from her trees as packaging to fill up the box around the gifts. Of course, the lemons are just as much a gift! I think it is the most clever idea. Food of any kind is such a meaningful gift in my eyes. It is a way to break bread with someone from afar. These lemons will be used on rainy gray days to create a little sunshine. For vinaigrettes, sliced in a cocktail, or just to look at their vibrant yellow a feast for the eyes.
