Sitting Pretty

20120301-080035.jpg We had a sumptuous brown leather chair delivered to Watson Kennedy yesterday. After we unwrapped it and took it off the pallet, I walked around the store looking for a place for it to live. That is when I decided I have a ‘thing’ for chairs. They really are such a fun way to inject a little personality into a room. The shape, the color–all making a design statement, without really taking up a ton of room.

20120301-080511.jpg I think it is great to have extra seating available, as well as the ability to move a few chairs around and create a different looking space. Chairs give you that flexibility. This is that yummy leather chair. I was happy to find a smaller scaled version, so it is easy to move around in a home.

20120301-080820.jpg On my walk around the shop, I snapped a few other chairs that I love. The metal X bar on this version makes this a stand-out in the field.

20120301-081028.jpg The chicken wire on this chair gives it a very vintage feel. I think this could work indoor or outdoors.

20120301-081205.jpg The gray flannel seat & back really makes this classic shape a winner for me.

20120301-081304.jpg This orange French chair is new, along with the creamy white one at the top of the post, but it has a vintage vibe. Indoor, outdoor, with a stack of books on it as a little side table–this model is my new favorite. Of course, the orange chair made me smile sitting next to our Veuve display.
