Snapshots: The First Holiday Open House
November 18, 2012Twas such a fun, fun day yesterday! To those of you who were able to stop in, thank you. It was a fab kick-off to the Holiday season. A case of bubbly, 6 large bottles of tangerine juice, 200 Trophy mini cupcakes, and a case of sparking cider later–a festive day it certainly was. I snapped a few photos before we opened the shop at 10. I always love the calm & stillness of the space before a full day of activity begins.
A little reminder sign at the door.
Pots of paperwhite narcissus scattered about. These just speak to me of the Holidays.
As well as stems of white lilies in single stem vases around the shop.
These sweet white feather snowflakes were hung all around. The ceilings are 15 feet high, so hanging things can be a pretty visual, with the snowflakes dancing about. Of course, me up on a 12 foot ladder installing said snowflakes is not such a pretty sight. Ahhhh, what we do for beauty.
Scent plays such a big role in the Watson Kennedy experience. Candles ablaze just warms up the space, and notes an Open House is about to begin.
It was a cold, rainy day, so a hot cup of Mariage Freres tea was also a welcome treat. But the mini Trophy cupcakes of salted caramel or candied yam just put everyone in a jolly mood.
