I love these few weeks after Labor Day where it is still officially Summer yet you can feel a cool in the air. We take every opportunity during these last few days of the season to entertain as much as possible. In town, weeknights become our ‘have friends over for supper’ time of the week as we are out on the island during the weekends. Dahlias from the Pike Place Market make for a simple arrangement and herbs from Forest Garden Farm flank the flowers. Lots of votive candles flicker away as we enjoy the meal and catch up with friends. #WineAndDineWednesday At #TheGainsborough

Always love it when our Pacific Northwest and Hudson Valley lives meld. First sublime chocolates from @thequietbotanist in Hudson and now their addition of dreamy candles. And we cooked together too. I made one of my favorite sheet pan meals, chicken with olives & Meyer lemons and rosemary. Everyone got to make shallot vinaigrette, which they got to take home in @weckjars weckjars too. We served it over the most divine greens from @forestgardenfarm We whipped up a mini mint Caprese salad. Along with a toasted baguette and French butter with good sized salt flakes throughout. We headed back to the barn from the farm kitchen to enjoy the fruits of our labor lunch. Such a fun day at @kurtwood_farms
