Dressing Up

We were invited to the birthday party of a dear friend who lives close to us in the Hudson Valley. A Gatsby themed event. Out flew our tuxedos. Not our normal country attire, but it felt so good to dress up! The simple act of dressing up can elevate a party and liven up the festivities in a snap. Plus it was so fun seeing everyone else all dressed up, many quite creatively. It also started to snow a bit on our drive to her home, which made the whole evening even more magical. The thought with this post is that dressing up more than you normally would to go out to supper or to see a play or performance, can make the time a bit more memorable and put a little extra kick in your step. It can turn something ordinary, extraordinary.
