Sunday Supper

July 26, 2023

Sunday supper with guests was awash in all sorts of reds. From the painterly plates to the yummily faded linen tablecloth from years of washing and sunshine. The French Duralex bistro glasses giving the biggest truest hit of the hue. Mister Sive was grilling steaks and I made the Summer squash & tomato relish I wrote about last week. We had some of our oldest friends we have known since before college over along with their son we have known since he was born and is now all grown up. Negronis were on the menu along with a beach walk. TPS found divine plums he added to his always loved peach and nectarine crisp he does this time of year. There was much laughter and many, many stories. The love that surrounded and swirled about that table deep from many years of friendship. Ahhhh, and I forgot to mention the Irish butter! It has become our new thing to offer along with sliced baguette at the meal and it is proving to be a hit. It was a lovely, lovely sunny July Sunday that will be long remembered.
