A Red, White & Blue Easter

April 12, 2020

Being out on the island at WestWard is a huge comfort to us. Stress seems to melt away out here. This is our 33rd Easter together, and the first being just us two. We either host a fairly large gathering or attend one put on by friends. But the ‘new normal’ at the moment has us celebrating with each other, and Bailey of course.

So it will be a red, white & blue Easter this year. My blue seersucker red lobster motif pajamas called into action for breakfast. Then it will be a chill day of reading, napping, working on my book, and TPS puttering around the grounds. I set the table last night so I could share it will you today. A sea of blue, with shells found on beach walks. Super simple, where seersucker makes a showing again, this time as place mats. They are actually napkins. I ironed them really well so they were nice and flat, becoming a place mat.

Around 6 this eve when it is often the sunniest on Colvos Passage, a Negroni will be made and an outdoor shower had. Then Easter supper for two followed by Mister Sive’s carrot cake. He makes it once a year, always on this day. It is one of my very favorite things. We will toast our blessings. With so much not going right in the world at the moment, we must all focus on the good. We send you much love from Vashon Island, hope you all are safe & sound, healthy and enjoying the heck out of the day. XX, T2+B
