A Collection Of Memories

Wine & Dine Wednesday about creating a collection around your corks. They are so easily to discard, but I quite like the idea of saving them. If you can display them in a large jar or place that makes you happy, they will be a lovely reminder of the times you enjoyed with friends & family. We have a coffee table at Hawthorne that is an old pigeon coop that was made into quite a conversation piece. In addition, we have added all our Veuve Clicquot Champagne corks from our many years of serving it to our guests at parties or suppers. They are strewn in the bottom of the cage for a random visual that quite tickles us. We have also added the cages, which gives the collection a pop of orange. The whole idea here is to enjoy something that most often gets tossed, by creating an ongoing collection.
