Season Ending Lilacs

On our trip up to Quebec City last weekend where it is a good deal cooler, tulips were still out in force. Lilacs were just starting. So it was fun to get a dose of early Spring for a few days. In the Hudson Valley the lilacs have hit the finish line but oh what a glorious run they had. Depending on what zone you live in, peonies are up next. Oh my! But for now we will savor the last of the heavenly lilacs. The season might be short, but boy is it sweet. Everyone have a swell long weekend—for many the unofficial start to Summer! X, T
Gifts Beyond Measure

Sending many thanks and much gratitude for all the kind messages and notes and gifts sent around the daily blog celebrating 12 years yesterday. In our household we love honoring milestones, be they big or small. Life goes by so quickly, they are lovely ways to slow down time a bit and bask in the moment. Connecting with others is one of the very most meaningful acts. I am so grateful to be able to do that in some small way each and every day.

Never quite sure whether to call it a birthday or an anniversary, either way, today celebrates the 12th year of my daily blog. Many of you have been following along since day one. Many have just begun reading it. I am so honored and grateful to you all. What started as a small idea has turned into something that holds incredible meaning to me in my life. I have met so many extraordinary folks from around the globe because of it. The sharing of ideas & thoughts centered on positivity, kindness, love & beauty connects us all. I have always looked at it like a circle—from what I share gets passed on, then you put your own mark on things, then pass it on. In many ways, it seems that in the past twelve years these tenets hold even greater importance. In that way, even after the 4380ish posts, it still feels like I am just getting started. Happiness is created, I firmly believe that, and that it can be shared and spread. Creating/writing this brings me immense happiness each day. For that, I send a huge THANK YOU. My hope is it sparks a bit of joy that gets passed on and on. As I wrote on that first day. Here we go! With much, much love, TKW

Visiting a new place or places can be so good for the mind, the body and the soul. It expands our worldview and in a way makes the world seem smaller. I mean that in the best way possible. Travel shows our differences along with how much we have in common. Be it just over the border or half a world away.

Next time you put together a cheese board, try lots of small ones instead of one large. Use plates or platters that have a similar vibe so the look is cohesive. Match up cheeses with crackers, breads and accompaniments you think work best with each cheese. It is a fun way for your guests to try lots of cheese-y variations.
