Sid Dickens at Watson Kennedy

This week is all about art at the shops. We are repainting walls and moving around artist vignettes to freshen up things a bit. Yesterday our in-residence painter extraordinaire Heather did her magic and transformed a wall into moody black to perfectly frame the Sid Dickens pieces. We have carried Sid’s work since day one. His plaster over wood memory blocks a beautiful way to get a quick hit of art in any room. Whether an individual piece or many. They are an easy way to start a collection. He does several new rounds of work each year, so our display is always changing. Make incredibly lovely gifts too. Pop in if your are in the hood to get a dose of art!

New Sid Dickens at WK

Just In, the latest memory block tiles by Vancouver, B.C. artist Sid Dickens. During the course of the year he adds to the collection and retires others. Above some of his latest that arrived the other day. We have carried his work since day one. I love how versatile the pieces can be. One or many. Prop one up in a bookcase, lay one flat on a coffee table, choose a grouping to go up on the wall.

Sid Dickens Letter Tiles

20140213-041632.jpg We rearranged our Sid Dickens wall at the Home shop with all of his stylish letter tiles. Fun to see so many massed together. Sid is an artist from Vancouver, B.C. whose work we have shown at both shops since they opened. Twice a year he adds new designs, so they are fresh and timeless all at the same time. The letter blocks have always spoken to me for their crisp, simple graphic quality. Spell out a house name, a special word, or do your initials–the possibilities are endless when it comes to these. They can be hung up on a wall or propped up in a bookcase. The tiles also make great personalized gifts.
