Ribbon by the Yard at WK

Ribbon, ribbon, ribbon, we heart our ribbon by the yard big time at Watson Kennedy. Whether it be a vintage spool I find on our travels or a new stripe or jaunty polka dot to liven up a package, both shops are decked out with options galore.   Also fun to use in design projects around the house, like tying back curtains.  Or the ever preppy option of using ribbon to hold your reading glasses around your neck or pull back your hair.

The Finishing Touch

A well-chosen ribbon ties the whole package together on many levels.

Ribbon by the Yard at WK

20150616-080114.jpg A beautifully wrapped gift is a sight to behold. A stylish ribbon that ties the whole package together can make the gift extra special. We have long carried ribbon at Watson Kennedy, having rolls mixed in displays by color. It has been on my list for ages to turn some old card racks we have had into large ribbon racks. Last week was the time that the task rose to the top of the list. Both shops now having a full rack for your viewing pleasure, making it much easier to buy some ribbon for that special gift if you are in a bit of a hurry. Or just want to survey most of your options at once. We will still have rolls scattered here, there and everywhere in displays by color, but this just tidies things up a tad. Whether by the yard or a whole roll, we have you covered.

The Beauty of a Well Wrapped Gift

20140909-031002.jpg Never underestimate the power of a well wrapped gift. A lovely customer posted this photo of a gift she purchased at Watson Kennedy for her husband recently. I know what is inside the box and it is pretty darn fabulous, but the wrapping she chose and wrapped so beautifully, is equally fab. She took such great care in choosing the paper and the ribbon. The same care she took in choosing the stellar gift. In this case, the paper color plays off of what is inside, as well as the fact that it is French. Lovely wrapping bumps up the specialness of the whole package and becomes part of the gift.

Number Ribbon from Italy

20120702-073801.jpg Just in–some incredibly sweet ribbon that has the number 1 to 9 (you decide) throughout the length of the 2 and a half yard span. I think this will make for some clever package wrapping, combining the numbers on the box to signal out the birthday at hand. I also see a bit of this ribbon tied around the stem of a wine glass for a spirited table setting or at a party and guests can decide what number they want on their goblet. This ribbon has that old school feel of going to camp for the Summer and having your initials sewn into your clothes, but this is a more updated version with numbers. The possibilities are endless for all sorts of projects.
